Nisha’s Skincare
light it up, change it all
…the magic is real, layer by layer, building lasting results that no serum can match…
nisha will show you how, the results will show you why
the simple truth of led
-
Does it work?
Yes
Is it more effective than topicals (serums/creams)
Yes, a lot of the time.
Is the online hype real?
You can expect your own skin system to be boosted to perform its BEST, and this means every skin cell can do its own job better: improved collagen, balanced oil production, even texture, less dark spots. You MUST commit to get the results, though. There is a lot out there that is not realistic: LED therapy does not produce a face lift, botox or filler type effect.
How much time does it take to start to see results?
About 6-8 weeks if you commit to your routine.
How long do I use the light on my skin?
You likely will need 5-15 mins every other am/pm for the first 6-8 weeks. and then as needed to maintain.
Is it a miracle for wrinkles and aging?
No, nothing is, but as it boosts cellular metabolism, it helps.
Is it worth the time and price?
You will get more results from LED than almost anything else IF you commit time to it regularly, and it will be the best investment of your routine since you only need to purchase it once., Just be realistic and committed. Make your routine do-able.
Is it safe?
Very safe, this tech was designed by NASA and has been around for decades.

Depending on which color, the light will reach a certain depth of your skin and release ATP within all the cells in that level of skin. For Red LED, it reaches the Fibroblast level, where we make collagen and elastin, and it releases a burst of energy in this skin cell so that the cell starts working at its best capacity in producing collagen. The next night, you will use it again, and the next layer of skin cells has another dose of Red LED, which builds your own best collagen and elastin, and layer by layer, you soon start to reveal your own best skin!
The light is able to use your own cellular mitochondrial power to build cellular layers of the healthiest skin cells that YOU are capable of.

Relaxing,
Warm,
Otherworldly.
If you have chosen the correct device, it is a warm, relaxing ritual. The light will be touching or very near your skin, and you will likely have your eyes protected with goggles that come with the device, unless it is a mask, which has a sealed eye area.
-
Yes, so much so that if you walk into a holistic esthetics practice, LED will still likely be the most benign thing that is in the room for your skin.
It is the Pooh Bear of Skin Treatments, designed by NASA to promote wound healing. How great is that?

if you commit to your daily or nightly routine, you can expect to see your best results beginning 6-8 weeks in, and peaking around 3-4 months in, but this can vary.
Being in my 40’s, if I up my ritual to a “slow and low” every night for 10 minutes, I get new peaks every so often of a smoother neck and decollate that is very noticeable. It depends on your own cellular metabolism, which LED boosts, so it will vary. Stick with it!
Your future self will thank you…

You likely will need 5-15 mins every other am/pm for the first 6-8 weeks. and then as needed to maintain.
You may find that this is an addictive meditative time for you (if you have a panel), or that you get your laundry done efficiently (if you have a wireless mask)!

Topical products like serums support cellular functions if they are powerful and legit enough to reach and penetrate the cellular walls. Otherwise they will protect and assist in preventing cellular malfunctions.
Retinols/Trets/Retinals will all trigger your skin to produce collagen, but they are limited and the first two have many unpleasant side effects. LED is benign and helps all cells; oil glands, pigment cells, you name it.
Even growth factor serums cannot fully engage a skin call to boost its own ATP (power), and these serums are way pricier and have not proven scientifically across the board to do what LED can do.

Um, no, come on internet! Stop!
There are a lot of before and after pictures that are dirty lies; LED will not give you botox effects or face lifts. These things are apples and oranges and its not okay to pretend they are the same.
LED will give you YOUR best natural skin, Yes.
The results, to me, are very much worth the commitment, because LED will do things that NO SERUMS can ever do.
The most important thing is to be realistic in your expectations. You are entering a long term relationship with LED.
It is a commitment to get your results, but the wonderful thing here is that YOU get to be your own Prince or Princess Charming (because this long term relationship will give back what you put in).
how would you fit it in your routine

***Have Pets? Some Masks might really freak them out: try putting a cardboard mask on your face and see how your pet responds and then take into consideration; you might just do this in private if you want a mask, but it may also be off the table if you have no privacy. Its hilarious in a mean way, so lets be nice to our fur babies!

Your skin will ideally be freshly cleansed. Do not use over makeup or SPF; you will be wasting your time.
Mask: usually this takes 3-15 minutes per use and the mask is flexible, wireless and flat against your face. You can also lay a flexi-mask against other parts of your body, no one is judging you.
Panel: 5-20 Minutes, and you may want to use it on other parts of your bod! It will likely be tented over your skin, but there are panels that lay up against your skin and yoga mats that you lay on.
Wand: 5-20 minutes. I have one plugged in at all times next to my pillow, so I can always have it at night in case I forgot to fit it in. I rest it on my neck and chest and move it when it softly beeps every 3 minutes and I credit this wand for making my neck and décolletage look years younger than it would otherwise.

First, decide what time of day you can actually dedicate 5 to 15 minutes to having your clean, bare skin with your LED every other night or at least 3 times per week. Night time, before bed, with a wand or panel? After work, doing laundry, wearing your portable flexible mask? Napping under a tented panel at work during your lunchbreak?
I want you to LOVE your routine, so try it out a few different ways and see what is the most realistic set up for you to repeat and look forward to.
LED works best on bare, clean skin. It isn’t a dealbreaker to have fresh, milder product on your skin, as long as it isn’t an SPF, if you MUST. As a new mom, my routine was a wand at bedtime, and I wasn’t getting back up to put on product, so I just had it on with the wand, and then fell asleep while the wand beeped every few minutes to remind me to move it to a different part of my sleepy face
If I wanted to use a device that had LED in combination with microcurrent, I would use it over my finishing products in my AM or PM routine.
If you love something, you will want to do it, so find a way to make this something you love to do, and if the first device isn’t your thing, return it if you can and find a better suited device!

Start with Red
Some companies only make red LED, and often I will only use red LED in my treatments. Red will be a good standby to begin, but lets get into more below::
The colors are where the magic lies:
Each color is a different wavelength of light, each wavelength reaches a different depth of your skin (or even into your body with infrared saunas or near infrared blended devices).
Each color reaches a different layer of skin that targets a more common skin issue in that layer.
Red simply goes the deepest and reaches to the area where we make collagen and elastin. To get geeky with me, I will post more and go Over the Rainbow with you later on in a blog. Below are the colors I most often focus on with my clients, and their target.
Red Aging Support, Texture, Wrinkles
Amber Rosacea, Sensitivity
Infrared/Near Infrared Inflammation, Plumping & Bounce, Pain
Blue Oil Balance, Acne
Green Hyperpigmentation
Red LED is the most popular as it reaches through all the cells and down to the collagen factory level. Near Infrared go deeper, restoring fatty pads for firm and bouncy cheeks and assisting in joint pain, and Infrared can assist in chronic pain, weight loss, you name it.
I usually recommend Red, Near Infrared, Amber, Blue and Infrared. It is wonderful to have all options, but unless you struggle with acne, most of the devices I recommend have options or a blend of Red, Near or Infrared & Amber. Need to go simple? If you only have Red, awesome. If you have Red and Infrared, second best!
Once the light makes contact with the cells in your body, it boosts energy (called ATP). This is released in any body cell the light passes through whether it be a melanocyte (responsible for skin color) or a keratinocyte (responsible for collagen). This means different colors can concentrate on different areas of the skin that certain cells are mainly concentrated at.

Aim for clean and naked skin if possible, but always at least clean skin.
Never use over SPF or Makeup.
Apply your products after your light treatment, if possible, rather than before.
You can totally use it before any of your actives, but it is not suggested to use it over retinols or actives.
My suggestion is that everyone has a routine that includes Peptides, Vitamin C and a moisturizer after their light therapy.

you betcha my sweet buns!
but put in your time…
Skin-deep: lymph starts to move, feel good glow begins, often the circulation that is stimulated will bring fresh O2 and nutrients to your skin, which gives you the first flush of goodness.
.Longer, visible results (like less sun damage, wrinkle depth smoothing out, acne reduction) begin to appear 4-5 weeks in and then peak about 2-3 months in.
Continued use will continue to stimulate cellular metabolism, and since aging is the slowing of cellular metabolism, I like to follow this logic and keep up with my routine.
Infrared and Near Infrared
Fatty Pads in the under-eye and cheek areas, for me, became bouncy around 2 months to 2.5 months in.
Pain: Always consult your Doctor. but I can say that personally: I have found immediate relief for wrist arthritis, chronic neck and shoulder tension, TMJ, endometriosis, lymphatic drainage
…what should I get…
in all honesty, it shouldn’t cost much, and you will only need to buy it once, so don’t spend over $300
